Living Room

Looking across the front of the guest house to the garage, water cistern, and well house. The cistern is sometimes needed in the late summer or fall. (All of our water is processed through an ultraviolet light system--the best method to ensure pure water.)

You can see the pond in the distance. There's a large table and chairs down by the pond—a great place for a quiet time, or to have your evening dinner.

We are often visited by deer, but our property hasn't been visited by a bear since the old fruit trees are now gone and, therefore, not available for their "dinner." The pond has a variety of birds and other wildlife. In the summer of 2008, a turtle ran up to the lawn near the house and proceeded to lay her eggs. Yes, a turtle--at least 8 inches across.

Our view extends from the SouthEast to the SouthWest. In the south we can see the peak of Mt. Moriarty, and from certain angles we can see past the large trees to the peak of Mt.Arrowsmith in the West.

The wood stove and couch are shown in front of the french doors that lead to the computer/study area, and the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms & 1/2 bath.

The Living Room comfortably seats up to seven on these two couches and a chair.

_Computer/Study

House computer with hi-speed internet service. The wireless network can also be accessed by your laptop.

The computer/study area is situated behind the living room and has two access doors. This is also a pleasant, semi-private space for the air bed when needed.

The computer/study area can be accessed from the Living Room or the main house entry near the kitchen.

Back of table area is shown, plus part of the main kitchen counter, dishwasher, and microwave. The kitchen contains lots of dishes, utensils, glasses, cups, etc. You should find most everything you expect and need in a kitchen.

Situated upstairs, the view side bedroom boasts a very comfy queen bed with fine linens. During the summer months, a small air conditioner placed in the window ensures a pleasant sleep. (Accommodates two sleepers.)

Situated upstairs, the single bed-room boasts an adjustable bed with a foam topper on the mattress. Guests often comment on the comfort of this bed and the queen bed. During the summer months, a small air conditioner placed in the window ensures a pleasant sleep. (Accommodates one guest "as is", but a reconfiguration of the room and an addition of an air bed allows for two guests to sleep in this room.)

When needed, this raised air bed provides an additional single bed in the semi-private computer/study area on the main floor. (Accommodates one sleeper.)

One couch is a hide-a-bed. This accommodates an additional two guests, plus a smaller guest can sleep on the other couch (child). (Note: the couches shown have been replaced.)

Situated on the main floor, behind the kitchen, the main bathroom has a shower and a large tub. There's plenty of hot water to accommodate several guests in a short period of time.

Situated upstairs, with access from each of the two bedrooms, this is a small washroom that is very handy for guest use when in the bedrooms. (The main bathroom is downstairs.)

_Other_Amenities

A briquette/wood burning barbecue works perfectly for your outdoor cooking. Two patio tables with umbrellas and many patio chairs give you plenty of seating choices. Briquettes are supplied for the barbeque.

There are three TVs in the house, this one in the Living Room and one in each of the upstairs bedrooms. Star Choice satellite TV service serves the TV in the living room and the queen bedroom. The other TV set with DVD/VCR player can be used for movies in the single bedroom upstairs.

Also, there are many board and card games stored in the two cabinets in the Living Room.

This cabinet is located at the bottom of the stairs. It contains many movies, both VHS and DVD formats. There's also some listening music for use in the 5 CD music player in the Living Room.

Garbage cans set inside a green fence are your landmark item for identifying the driveway. Also, not shown in this photo, there is a lovely hanging sign saying "Valley Vista House" on the opposite side of this driveway entry point.

The circular driveway goes up to the right and takes you in front of the house. The guest house is the second door—the wooden screen door. Angle parking is preferred here and guests get plenty of space to park in front of, or to the left of, the door. Also, the fence on the left can be opened to park large vehicles.

This photo gives you a good view of the whole house. The vacation house occupies the two floors on the East. Each living quarters has a private, and separate, outdoor space. Also, all the walls are double-walled for soundproofing. You will not hear a neigbour.
